The National Council for Urban Economic Development has recognized the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center as "Best Practice in Technology Transfer and Research Centers" in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Located adjacent to Virginia Tech’s Blacksburg campus and airport (30 minutes from the Roanoke
Regional Airport), the CRC’s rolling hills and modern buildings are home to 104 technology companies,
70% of them in IT-related fields. The CRC’s 13 buildings are nearly full to capacity, and with a number of new
companies seeking to locate here, three new buildings are being built, and a fourth is planned.
Services include business assistance and training, access to entrepreneurial libraries and Virginia Tech faculty, preferential banking and venture capital relationships, highbandwidth fiber-optics infrastructure, a fitness center, and a café. Below is a sampling of IT companies who selected the CRC as the best place to grow their business.
